In the Kedushah which opens with kesser, the reader begins the first two words of Shema Yisrael together with the congregation,[259] and dwells on them until the congregation has completed the response ending lihiyos lachem leilokim. Only then does he conclude his opening verse aloud.[260]
The Six Remembrances (p. 86) are read every day, including Shabbos, Yom-Tov, Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur.[261]
On Shabbos the Six Remembrances are read after the passage beginning v'lakachta soles (p. 201).[262]
On Shabbos Shirah it is customary to eat black buckwheat, also known as kashe.[263]
